Building the Future of Finance with Bold Innovation.

The FinVERSE Hackathon, held in conjunction with MyFintech Week 2025, organized in collaboration with Bank Negara Malaysia and MIFC, and hosted by ASBhive, gathered some of Malaysia’s brightest young talents to tackle the future of fintech.

The event brought together developers, engineers, and designers in a high-energy competition that blended creativity, technology, and purpose.

Two Tracks, One Goal: Reshaping Finance

Participants competed under two ambitious tracks designed to push the boundaries of innovation:

  • Sustainable Fintech Moonshots: solutions for greener, more climate-conscious financial infrastructures.
  • AI for Financial Access & Protection: applying AI to inclusive credit scoring, fraud detection, and financial security.

From sustainable credit scoring to behavioral biometrics, the hackathon showcased bold ideas that could redefine Malaysia’s financial ecosystem.

The Energy of the Hackathon

The atmosphere was charged with innovation “a vibe code: solving AI using AI.”

  • Facilitator: Daniel Cerventus guided the flow, ensuring participants stayed sharp and focused.
  • Mentors: Yeoh Chen Chow, Andre, and Shee Jin brought their expertise, offering real-world guidance to the participants.
  • Judges: Redza Shahid (ASB), Darrel Ang (CapBay), and Jessyka Hiu evaluated the pitches, balancing innovation with feasibility.

The results? An environment where ideas flourished, and even more importantly, participants walked away with not just recognition, but also opportunities. Some were offered internships on the spot, a testament to the talent on display.

Finalist Spotlight & Winners

Five finalist teams pitched their solutions, each showcasing innovation and speed under pressure.

The top three winners shared a prize pool of RM 6,000:
